挪亞方舟的歷史事件大約是發生在西元前2349 BC, 我記得小時候聽主日學老師講故事的時候都提到雨下了40天, 自己後來在讀這段經文的時候其實也沒有真正的細讀挪亞從進入方舟到走出方舟到底有多久的時間。這篇文章讓我們可以透過查經更仔細地閱讀創世記7-8章。這表格可以在這裡下載, 包含答案也在檔案裏面。

在進行這段經文查經建議除了聖經以外還需要預備日曆, 方便核對經文並數算日期。我自己有在帶青少年查經, 當我帶他們查這段經文的時候, 有些學生會卡在Genesis 8:8, 挪亞等了幾天後送出第一隻鴿子?
6 過 了 四 十 天 ， 挪 亞 開 了 方 舟 的 窗 戶 ，7 放 出 一 隻 烏 鴉 去 ； 那 烏 鴉 飛 來 飛 去 ， 直 到 地 上 的 水 都 乾 了 。8 他 又 放 出 一 隻 鴿 子 去 ， 要 看 看 水 從 地 上 退 了 沒 有 。9 但 遍 地 上 都 是 水 ， 鴿 子 找 不 著 落 腳 之 地 ， 就 回 到 方 舟 挪 亞 那 裡 ， 挪 亞 伸 手 把 鴿 子 接 進 方 舟 來 。10 他 又 等 了 七 天 ， 再 把 鴿 子 從 方 舟 放 出 去 。
我們從經文可以看到山頂出現後40天挪亞送出一隻烏鴉, 但是幾天後送出第一隻鴿子似乎沒有直接說。但第10節似乎可以看出答案, 挪亞又等了七天, 表示挪亞最初等了七天放了第一隻鴿子。這部分可以用引導的方式讓學生自己從經文找出線索, 不要直接告訴他答案。
